Beauty

Beauty isn't shallow or
skin deep
it's not a look
you can achieve or
or aim for or
something everyone wishes for
because everyone has it
and it's not just in people
because beauty can sneak itself into
the smallest things
like on wildflower
dipping to one side and
then another
in the wind
or a spider web
stretched
between two sturdy bushes
with an intricate
and precise design
glistening with morning dew
a sight someone
will see as worthless and
common
but someone will see its
true and rightful
beauty
and beauty will never be rare
because you
can see it everywhere
you just have to
open your
eyes

  1. Molly, you are delightful, and so is this poem.
I love the choices you've made in language and imagery. As a matter of fact, I'm going to steal them. See you soon.
